The proposed program is a systemic effort to transform teacher preparation at Morehead State University by infusing technology and making other institutional changes required to meet Kentucky educational reforms and support the P-16 concept. The technology initiative will develop and implement a series of innovative, technology-based instructional (TBI) demonstration models. The TBI model projects are designed to immerse prospective teachers and teacher preparation faculty in effective uses of technology to improve teaching and learning. This effort, supported by strong faculty development, especially in academic content areas, will be cross-disciplinary and collaborative, involving university faculty, regional school district master teachers, technology directors, administrators, and corporate resources. Working in tandem with other campus efforts, technology will be integrated into the curriculum of both content areas and educational methods. To disseminate information and support infusion of technology, consortium members will develop a sustainable virtual community linked with internet and collaborative workgroup technologies.
